i love chocolate and orange together it seem to remind me of winter, these little cakes are so tasty and were really popular with my family.
i kept some orange juice back and used it for a glaze. i made one cake mix and halved it and then added chocolate to one and the orange juice and zest to the other.
130g golden caster sugar
1/4 tbp baking powder
juice and zest of 1 orange
3 tsp cocoa powder
preheat the oven at 180c
in a mixing bowl add the butter and sugar together and using and electric whisk mix for 3/4 minutes until smooth and pale. add the eggs and mix in one at a time.
sift in the flour and baking powder and mix in,
remove half of the mixture and put into a separate bowl, add the juice and zest of half an orange and mix together into one of the bowls of mixture,
in a microwave safe bowl, melt the chocolate and add it into the other bowl with the cocoa and mix.
grease the bundt mould (i got the mould from wholeport.com)
take a spoon and add a bit of each of the cake batters and continue adding drops of each one to create a marble effect.
bake for 20 minutes.
invert on to a wire rack and remove from the mould.
use the remaining orange juice and mix in enough icing sugar to create a glaze (about 150g)
use a pastry brush and paint on the glaze to each cake.
