ottoman envy then make your own

ottomans are really in right now, but they cost an arm and a leg, (well not literally lol) but they are from £150 up to prices in the thousands. which is way to expensive for me.
i found this leather one below on knock off decor, it was made by becky at dwelling room interiors. head over to her blog to see the tutorial of how to make your own at  http://newlyandbecky.blogspot.com/2010/07/ottoman-tutorial.html

why not turn an old coffee table in to an ottoman, abbie from five days five ways,  upcycled an old coffee table in to this, how amazing check out the tutorial at http://www.fivedaysfiveways.com/2011/07/diy-tufted-ottoman.html

things im loving this week

kitchen organisation, i love this picture so much, i wish i could have this inmy house. i love the label name plates on each shelf.
this is such a cool idea, crate box shelfing. it looks so beautiful. i would love to try and recreate this.
this picture wall hanging is from pottery barn, when i saw this i could see a potential knock off coming on lol. i think this could be recreated quite easily, and today while visiting my partner at work i saw some wire window display frame holders in a closed down shop. so i have asked him to speak to his boss and see if i can have them. if not then i think with a wall mounted pole and some picture hanging wire i could recreate it.

diy specimen paperweights

                                                     diy fake specimen paper weights.
to make these i used some glass photo frame paperweights from the pound shop.
i printed these images from google onto normal printer paper. and then cut them out to fit on the back.

then i used spray glue and stuck them to the bottom, to make it look like a specimen.

valentines day (key to my heart) heat transfer pillow

                      the key to my heart
i downloaded the key outline and changed the sizes. then i cut it with the silhouette on to black heat transfer vinyl.
then i ironed it on a sweater cushion i made. then i ironed on the small hearts next to it. you could also do this with fabric and iron on interfacing or cut a stencil. i wanted to try out the heat transfer as i havent used it before.
