i picked up this bag of paper rose petals in the pound shop, they are meant to be used as confetti
but i thought, why not use them to create an actual rose as the colour was already perfect and authentic looking. and it saves the cutting petals process, which depending how many you want to make can be time consuming
i trimmed the bottom end down on the first petal and used a wooden skewer to roll the top edge over then rolled it up and glued it, then for the next petal i cut it down again, and then wrapped it around the first petal, then did the same with the third petal.
then with the rest of the petals i added them the size then were and glued them on behind the centre part working around in a circle. then once they are stuck on you can use the skewer to roll the edges over slightly, but the good thing about these petals are that they were already in a realistic shape and not completely flat.
if i haven't explained it very well then just follow the pictures above, that is the basic method i always use with roses.

Lol......I think we shop at the same place because I make very similar flowers with the same petals, lol. I make other flowers with them too of course but there is something about roses and the soft cream and pink of these petals that is just so perfect. Stunning flowers. Lee x
