decorated plates using a porcelain marker





i have had this on my to do list for so long now i was so excited when i finally bought the pen to do it lol.
it was so easy if your not that confident at drawing you could also use a stencil, i cut one on my silhouette machine

  26. Do you have to worry about toxins when eating off the plates? Do you need to spray over them with anything? Do you need specific plates to do this? We have white plates from our wedding registry, boring, but I didn't know if these needed to be non-shiny ones or something.

Almost all the projects I've seen use Pebeo Porcelaine Paint Markers and there is always one person like me commenting on the following: Although the official description says these pens contain no toxic ingredients, their official website also writes: These markers are not recommended for use on surfaces that come in contact with food.

      I have read about a European paint pen that is safe coming in contact with food, but not others. While I love this project, I would leave them as beautiful decorative plates rather than "eating on" plates.

  32. I used a Sharpie instead of this marker, it works fine, but sometimes, you need to make sure you have your coats really thick on lighter colors as they will fade over time, but it has been thru my dish washer and everything and seems great!
